Boreline FlexiRiser – the “No-Brainer” Solution for Submersible Pumps

When we first spoke with BD, the Operator of a local water utility in rural Oklahoma, he mentioned that he had seen Boreline FlexiRiser while visiting a trade show the year before and he commented …. “what struck me was what a simple solution this is to a serious and ongoing problem.”
That “ongoing problem” BD refers to is the internal scaling and corrosion that is destroying his column pipe and driving up pumping costs at his town just south of OKC. “I had to try this out because steel pipe was just not working out,” he insisted.
With the local contractors being so busy, it was taking a few weeks every time they needed to pull their pumps. This was also a problem because their customers rely on a constant supply of good quality water.
When his pump went down again and he had to get this changed out quickly, BD had no option but to try and install his pump on his own. He turned to Boreline FlexiRiser.
He remembered that Boreline FlexiRiser is designed to replace the rigid pipes used with submersible pumps. He also remembered that it was supplied in one, continuous length with no joints or welds. On top of that Boreline is easy to handle. BD decided now was the time to move away from steel pipe.
He was going to install his 10hp pump down 380ft using his front-end loader over a rolling wheel and into the well. “This is not a problem for me because I have a lot of space around the well,” he said.
“Next thing the guys from Boreline offered to drive out and help us with this initial install,” he continued. “Added to that, they decided to bring their FlexiRiser Pump Puller, a trailer-mounted hydraulic spool-system that can install and retrieve pumps at the push of a button.”
On arrival at site, all the prep work was completed in a field close to the well. The pump and power cable were connected and spliced and then we backed the Pump Puller up to the well.
With just the push of a button, the pump was lowered 380ft into the well in less than 30 minutes.
BD had invited some utility operators, engineers, Circuit Riders and even a board member and all very impressed with the speed, efficiency and simplicity of how the Boreline was installed. BD was especially happy that “everyone present had a first-hand opportunity to experience what I had been talking about and now we were all on the same page.”
Mike, an OK Circuit Rider was also present and was very impressed. “I know a lot of small towns who will really benefit from this technology” he said. “It’s amazing. One of the biggest advantages of the Boreline FlexiRiser are the massive energy savings realized. This is because no internal scaling ever occurs inside the Boreline” he added.
A few months later I asked BD how his well was producing. “Our production increased immediately from 66gpm to 89gpm, a 34% increase. On top of that, our electricity bill is down by about $170 per month.”
“This is an unbelievable turnaround for a small town like ours. This is just fantastic!”
